Mifa is presenting its new magnesium product 'Mg Wheels' to the public at the 2015 REHACARE trade fair from 14 to 17 October 2015.

Jan Aalberts founded Mifa in 1975, forty years ago. Back then, aluminium precision extrusion was so little known within the market that Mifa almost went out of business a year later. However, as the saying goes, 'what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,' and that was certainly the case for Mifa. With the mentality ‘perform better every day,' Mifa grew step by step.

Mifa will be working through the summer. We are available to assist you daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Experience precision - during the summer too!

This is a summary of the process of extrusion. Die makers produce a die based on drawings of the profile.
That die then enters the extrusion press. An oven heats a round bar of aluminium – or magnesium – to several hundred degrees Celsius. As soon as the material is soft enough, it is ready to be pressed through the mould. This happens under high pressure. At the other end of the mould the aluminium comes out in the shape of the die. The aluminium is then cooled and – as soon as all of it has been pressed through the die – straightened. After that, it is swan and, if necessary, treated further.
