Defense: Aluminium precision products for a safe world
An AS9100D certified aluminium extrusion company
The advantages of aluminium precision extrusion at Mifa
The material
Aluminium offers many advantages for the defense market. It is incredibly strong, has a long lifespan, and provides excellent thermal and electrical conductivity.
Lightweight profile
A strong material like aluminium is often associated with heavy components. However, Mifa proves the opposite. Thanks to our precision extrusion technology, we can produce lightweight profiles without compromising their strength.
Consistent quality
We exceed standard norms by ensuring properties such as straightness, torsion, concentricity, parallelism, surface roughness, and precision, all with dimensional tolerances from ± 0.02 mm. Our extrusion profiles can be processed in-house in flexible quantities, from extrusion to surface treatment.
By taking full responsibility for the production process, we ensure an optimal end result for our customers.

Aluminium precision profiles for waveguides
Waveguides are used to transmit high-frequency signals with minimal loss, for example in radar, satellite, and RF measurement systems. They operate on the principle of internal reflection within a conductor, where the dimensions and material directly influence performance at specific frequencies.
Aluminium extrusion profiles are commonly used due to their favourable combination of conductivity, low weight, and machinability.
Mifa offers a standard waveguide programme and a comprehensive flange stock programme. Download our waveguide brochure for more information, or get in touch directly.
A waveguide transmits electromagnetic energy with precision. Mifa supplies the aluminium profiles that make this accuracy possible.

Precision extrusion
With dimensional tolerances from +/- 0.02 mm. Holes can be co-extruded into multi-core profiles.
CNC-machining
We have a modern machinery park with over 30 machines, where we can process products up to 4.5 meters in length.
Advice on the right alloy
The right alloy choice is closely linked to the quality of the final product. For markets such as aerospace and defense, this must be carefully considered. In the defense industry, factors such as strength, corrosion resistance, and machinability are critically important.
At Mifa, we possess the expertise and knowledge of various aluminium and magnesium aerospace and defense alloys, such as EN AW 6061 aluminium, EN AW 6063, EN AW 7022, and EN AW 7075. We can also press the aluminium 7020 alloy, which is known for its enhanced resistance to corrosion and fatigue, while the 7022 alloy is particularly suitable for components under high stress due to its superior mechanical properties.

Our high-quality extrusion profiles are qualified through process control and stringent product inspections. We have been supplying builders and subcontractors in the defense and aerospace markets worldwide for decades. These markets demand strict requirements concerning the strength of the material, surface quality, and the weight of the products, components, and profiles. Mifa holds the AS 9100 quality certification for the aerospace industry, also known as EN 9100 certification. With the AS9100 certificate, Mifa confirms that its production and business systems meet high-quality standards. Additionally, Mifa’s surface treatments also meet military specifications (MILSPECS).
It is also important that your data is secure. We have further developed our ERP system over the past year to ensure this security for our customers.
